How many of you have dreamt of having your own blog? I have…. When it comes to writing I’m a complete beginner. I haven’t written an essay in the last 10 years since I completed college. I’m a stay-at-home mom with two kids, thinking of learning a new skill itself was a challenge to me. I somehow managed to push myself out to attend this workshop for good. A miracle did happen this week, I was able to write a couple of blog posts which surprises me till now. This workshop is definitely a kickstart to my writing career. Thanks to Uma Madhavi for this amazing workshop. Content Vidhya has given me a roadmap to be a successful writer. Their step-by-step approach through assignments was very effective. Let's go to details about what happened each day :

Day 1

The day1 started with an introduction of Ms. Uma Madhavi. She gave us hope about writing with her personal stories and experience. Her advice did work well personally, I was able to come out of the hesitation to start writing.

She talked about writing styles and their types, types of content writing, how to write a perfect introduction and headings, and all the details to look upon.

Assignments were given to use the knowledge taught for the day. We had to come up with a powerful heading and Introduction.

Day 2

Day 2 started with how to write content, where to use white space, proofreading, editing, writing strategies, and language to be used, etc. She shared blog templates and how to write a conclusion.

write like nobody is reading and edit like everyone is reading” — Uma Madhavi

These are my favorite lines from her and have helped me a lot with writing the body /content without any hesitation.

The assignment for the day was to write the content and conclusion for day1’s assignment. So by now, we were able to complete one set of blogs on this day.

Day 3

This day she started to explain about copywriting, copywriting strategies, Landing pages, how and where to use storytelling, leveraging testimonials, FOMO, etc.

She cleared all the doubts I had about copywriting and made it simpler than I ever thought.

The assignment was about landing pages to sell your own product/service.

Day 4

This day was about completing the assignments, a break from the online class.

Day 5

This day was about the niche. What is your niche? How to choose a niche? and about blogging, how to get started with blogging? How to search for a topic? and how to use keywords?

The assignment was a detailed step-by-step approach which made it easy for us to choose the right niche.

Day6

This was the last day we were all looking forward to. She explained how to research elaborately and to create a roadmap for the blog. She shared some useful tools for content writing and also about career options available for content writers, how much to charge, where to find clients and affiliate marketing.

Assignments were given to create a blog post on two of the topics given by her.

Conclusion
